DC-3 Airways Marine Division Readme file.

A guide for the installation of the 'DC-3 Airways Marine Division' in FS2002 and FS2004 (FS9).

Even if you are familiar with the procedure required for installing 'Add-on Scenery' to your Flight Simulator please follow these instructions for the reason explained in 1., below.

Before you commence any scenery additions you must first ensure that your Flight Simulator is not running.

The installation of the "DC-3 Airways Marine Division" scenery will reform the terrain on the north shore of the Patapsco River in eastern Baltimore County, MD. and create the Baltimore Municipal Airport (KBMA). In addition, it will create and place the DC3 Airways Marine Division Seaplane Base on the edge of Colgate Creek at KBMA, and place a large land plane hanger at the end of the apron containing the land Passenger Terminal. Located on the same apron midway between the Passenger Terminal and the large hanger just mentioned is a standard DC3 Airways DC-3 hanger identical to those in the KBOS download. In addition to the navaids on the airport, a new NDB COL(Colgate ) 387.0 has been placed West of the airport in line with the 15W-33W water runway.

You will find that this installation will also place a DC-3 Airways Marine Division terminal at 3 other locations. A complete guide to where these are located is included with the download.

Installation.

The initial part of the installation applies to both FS2002 and FS2004.

1. In order to facilitate the present installation and future updates on a common basis, we recommend that all DC3 Airways Marine Division files be placed in the: Program Files/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator x/Addon Scenery folder. However, if you already have your FS scenery organized in a different folder you may use that as long as you remember where you put these files.

 2. Download the new scenery file to a Temporary folder of your choice. Since you are reading this you will already have done this.

3.	Unzip the downloaded Zip file, "MarineDivision.zip" into the same Temporary folder. Four (4) new folders will be created:
	DCA Marine Division
	DCA DC-4 Operations
	Baltimore Harbour Landclass
	Baltimore Municipal Airport

 4. Copy each of the four folders and paste them into the /Addon Scenery folder or the folder of your choice.

You now have the scenery stored for use by either simulator. Since FS2002 and FS2004 operate slightly differently, the next installation instruction is also different for each Flight simulator. The individual Flight Simulators now need to know where to find the new scenery files.

Installation in FS2002.

 1. Start FS2002.

 2. If you are in Full Screen mode click on 'Ctrl+Alt', then 'Enter' to display the Menu Bar.

Click on the Baltimore Municipal Airport folder once only, the path to which will then appear in the box called Directory. Ignore the option to rename the file.

 7. Click on 'OK'.

 8. The new Baltimore Municipal Airport scenery will now appear on the list as number 1. If the 'Enabled' box at the left is empty, click on it to enable the scenery.

Repeat the above steps for each of the remaining 3 folders in this order:
	Baltimore Harbour Landclass
	DCA DC-4 Operations
	DCA Marine Division

 9. Click on 'OK'.

 5. In the 'SETTINGS - SCENERY LIBRARY' panel click on 'Add Area'.

 6. A panel called 'Select Scenery Directory' will appear. You now need to navigate to the /Addon Scenery folder, or the folder youre using.

10. The DCA Marine Division should appear in the list before DCA DC-4 Operations. DCA DC-4 Operations should appear in the list before Baltimore Harbour Landclass. Baltimore Harbour Landclass should appear in the list before Baltimore Municipal Airport. If this is not the sequence you see, click on the file to be moved and use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to sequence them properly.

 11. Now close down the simulator.

12.	When you next start FS2004 the DC-3 Airways hangar scenery will appear at all the listed locations.
